Meet the Team
Katie- Head Coach and Founder
Katie Potts, the founder and head coach, brings over 14 years of coaching experience to our school. Her love for acrobatics began at the age of 3, leading her to a competitive gymnastics career at just 6 years old. With an impressive 9 British Champion titles and the honour of representing Great Britain in 2012 and 2016, Katie has a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the sport.
Katie’s coaching journey has been just as remarkable as her competitive one. She has coached a wide range of disciplines—from recreational gymnastics to competitive acrobatics and circus arts. In 2022, she served as head coach for her team at EuroGym, and she has also collaborated with theatre professionals to seamlessly integrate acrobatics into stage productions. Katie is passionate about helping individuals surpass their own expectations and achieve goals they never thought possible.
Corin- Assistant Coach
Corin brings an incredible depth of experience to Empower Movement Company, with over 13 years training in gymnastics. During her career, she competed at the highest levels, becoming a multiple-time British Champion with her team and representing Great Britain in Venice, where they were crowned Mid European Champions.
Her passion for the sport shines through in her coaching, especially when it comes to her favourite apparatus, the floor, where she loved the artistry and expression of movement. She also enjoyed vault and tumbling.
Abigail- Cover and Assistant Coach
Abi brings over 13 years of acrobatic training and four years of coaching experience to Empower Movement Company. Throughout her competitive career, she achieved National Champion titles in both the solo and duet acrobatic divisions at the British Arts Competition, developing a strong technical foundation and passion for performance.
Alongside coaching acrobatics and dance, Abi has a passion for choreography and enjoys combining both disciplines to create creative and engaging routines. Tumbling has always been one of her favourite aspects of acrobatics, and she loves helping gymnasts build confidence and achieve new skills in a fun and supportive environment.
Abigail- Assistant Coach
Abi began gymnastics at around the age of four and quickly developed a passion for tumbling, dance, and choreography, spending much of her childhood as an artistic gymnast. She later found her way into all-star cheerleading with Platinum Allstars, where she discovered a love for the sport.
One of Abi's proudest achievements was earning the opportunity to compete at All Star Worlds just ten years after the gym was founded. This experience reinforced her belief that small, independent teams built on resilience, ambition, and a supportive community can achieve incredible success.
Abi is passionate about sharing her love of acrobatics, cheer, and dance with young people. She is excited to inspire the next generation to enjoy the sport as much as she does and is delighted to be part of the continued growth of Empower Movement Company.
